Mine Post Technologies Inc. ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Darius mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use Darius.

By using the App, you consent to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the App.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you sign in via Google or Apple, we receive:

Name and email address (as provided by your identity provider)
Unique user identifier
Profile photo URL (if available)

1.2 Usage Data

Articles read, bookmarked, or shared
Watchlist symbols and preferences
Search queries within the App
App feature usage patterns (via Firebase Analytics)

1.3 AI Chat Data

Messages you send to the AI assistant
AI-generated responses
Chat history stored in your account

Important: Your AI chat conversations are processed by third-party AI services (Anthropic Claude and OpenAI). Please refer to our AI Transparency Disclosure for full details.

1.4 Device & Technical Data

Device type, operating system, and version
IP address (for security and rate-limiting purposes)
App version
Crash reports and performance data

2. How We Use Your Information

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the App:

4. Data Retention

Account data: Retained while your account is active.
Chat history: Retained until you delete it or delete your account.
Usage analytics: Aggregated data retained for up to 14 months (Firebase Analytics default).
Deleted accounts: All personal data is permanently deleted within 30 days of account deletion.

5. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:

Access: Request a copy of your personal data.
Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data from within the App (Settings → Delete Account).
Correction: Update inaccurate personal information.
Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format.
Opt-out: Disable analytics tracking and push notifications at any time.

6. Canadian Privacy Law (PIPEDA)

As a British Columbia–based company, we comply with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). You may file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada if you believe your privacy rights have been violated.

7. California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, and opt out of the sale of your personal information. We do not sell your personal information.

8. Children's Privacy

Darius is not intended for use by individuals under 17 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child, we will delete it promptly.

9. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (TLS), Firebase Security Rules, server-side API key management, and rate limiting. However, no method of electronic transmission is 100% secure.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the App or via email. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
